10 Things You Can Do Now To Support The Trail!
- Join Tri-County Triangle Trail and be active in supporting the trail! Bicycling
and walking is healthy, saves money and protects our environment!
- Tell your friends and family about the trail and encourage them to give it a try!
- Pick up litter and clear debris from the trail when using the trail.
- Contact your elected officials and tell them how much you like using the trail and
ask them to support the trail. Support connecting schools, parks, work and home
with trails. Always be positive, never be negative.
- Obey posted safety rules and safety guidelines and please don’t litter. Ride/walk/run/roller
blade on the right, be alert for hazards and be courteous of other users. Always
pass with care, announce your intentions and share the trail.
- Volunteer to help on fund raising, cleanup or other projects on the trail. Report
unsafe conditions to the appropriate authority or Ross County Park District 740-773-8794.
- Be safe! Be alert and avoid using the trail alone. Never be on the trail after
dark.
- Write a Letter to the Editor about how great the trails are and that they should
be funded and supported by local officials.
- Pledge to walk or bike more and burn calories not carbon.
- Support efforts to protect the environment. Recreational trails offer an opportunity
for green transportation and recreation, appreciation of nature, healthy lifestyles
and protecting the environment.
Recreational trails have to compete with many other projects for funding. However
the benefits of creating recreational trails for transportation, exercise and recreations
is getting attention at all levels and can make a difference in our community! They
will not be fully supported unless you speak up and make a case for maintenance and
construction of trails.
